Thank you for the info Shelly, am hoping that some more of the eggs will hatch out soon, the only problem i have is that the dad is a bully and if he gets to them before i do he tries to bit them or head butt them.. so i think i will have to keep them separate for a few years as he head butts anything that dont move to quick. he pulls things off the cloths line and head butts them to.. will let you know if i get any more babies..

thanks again

Wow! Wow! And Wow!

It's so unusual to see a mommma and baby that you can tell are momma and baby. That's because tortoises lay egges, of course, and in the wild, they would never know who is who.

You might enjoy the photos of the baby galapagos tortoise and momma.

About age...

Once the tortoise is full grown, there is no sure why to tell the age. The only sure way is to be there when it is hatched. So you'll always know how old the new baby is.

As for how to care for it, you might find this book ontortoise care helpful.

You might want to post a photo and a little information about your special duo at the Tortoise Brag Book page.

Keep it slow and steady.
