I just found a turtle in my yard. I've lived here 8 years and never seen a turtle. But, my trusty protector Abbie, just found one up against my chain link fence. I picked it up and moved it outside the fence close to the woods. Then came inside and read that I shouldn't move it. So, I went back and got it and put it where it was. BUT Abbie, the big black lab, doesn't like her in our yard. Nor rabbits, dogs, birds, snakes, squirrels and cats! Although she was very mystified by the turtle and basically left it alone when I told her to - which is rare - I usually have to chase her around the yard to help whatever critter she has picked up. The turtle isn't cuddly, warm and interesting to have in her mouth. What should I do? Leave it or move it? It's a box trutle about 4" "round".
