Wow! You are doing a great job of taking care of your tortoise.
I'm not an expert, but I don't think the bread will hurt her. Of course she shouldn't eat lots of it. I'm sorry if I sounded sharpish earlier. People often contact me asking about doing really crazy things to their pets because they are trying to save money or bother. Sometimes I lose it a bit.
If you have a photo of your tortoise (and her setup) you might like to share that and her story with others on this page
I give her all that. She was a rescue I got about 2 years ago. She was severely burned in a house fire. She was about 2 then and weighed 13 to 14 pounds. I have had her thoroughly treated by an exotic animal vet here in San Diego, I did shots, soakings and ointment treatments for over a year. We still do the soakings and ointment but she has since recovered and is up to almost 30 pounds now. Our vet did not think she would pull through but she did. We have since built her her very own outsde pen, 2500 square feet, complete with her own shed with her own igloo inside , with a pig warmer and special lamp (the kind they use at the zoo here). She loves it. I am very particular about her diet as I know how important it is for her and her shell's development. It's just that I was taking some tortillas and bread out to the horses and she came running over, or rather crawling over when she saw me and took a couple of bites and really liked it. I did not let her have more because I wasn't sure about it. Am just wondering because she is my first and only tortoise and I am still learning.

Sulcata Diet by: Shelly
Why do you want to feed your tortoise bread? No wild tortoise eats bread.
A sulcata diet should be mostly grasses, weeds, cactus, other succulents, and hay. You can add a little fruit and veggies.
