desert tortoise clicking noise when eating

I have a desert tortoise who has been in the family for a long time we think he has to be at least 50. The last couple of days he has been making a clicking noise when he eats like he is grinding his food up. It seems to stay in the front of his mouth and that he is having a hard time swallowing his food

 Clicking when eating

I have a desert tortoise and she is doing the same thing. She's about 30 years old and has been in the family about 25 years. I just noticed over the last couple of days that her mouth is making a clicking noise when she eats. I was worried that something happened to her mouth because she seems to have a tough time chewing or bringing the food to the back of her throat to swallow.
