female hermanns acting like a male?

hi there i was a little confused today as i saw my 8 year old female hermanns biting, mounting then humping my other male and then female tortoise including the sound effects and opening mouth. im almost certain that she is in fact a she as her tail is tiny. i youtubed some mating tortoises and it was exactly the same! is this possible or do you think i have a male? someone told me this happens while a female gravid. please help..
