This morning I found my tortoise unmoving in his home. It seems the underside of his shell is very soft and has what looks like bruising on it. A few months earlier he stopped eating properly and I assumed it was because he was going into hibernation. I admit that a few months ago I stepped on him while he was under a thick sheet but he had stopped eating before that anyway. I am extremely distraught as I loved this tortoise a lot and expected him to be in our family for a long time. He had never hibernates before either I don't know if that effects anything though. I can't even identify it's species :/. Could anyone suggest the cause of death?
