A neighbor of my mom's found a desert tortoise in his backyard-- and left it there for over a week, while his dogs hassled it (no major damage done- but very scared)-- and my mom lucky asked to have it and gave it to me. I have a nice backyard with dirt and grass and a little house for him- at first he was fine and ate- and seemed to be better- but a week later, now he hides in the corner and won't eat. When I try to feed him he goes into his shell- What do I do?
