YES YOU SHOULD NEVER HIBERNATE THEM IN A BUCKET THEY COULD DYE FROM THIS THEY NEED ABOX WITH NEWSPAPER IN.

It is not good to wake up a hibernating tortoise, but are you sure they were hibernating?

Being new at keeping tortoises,I brought them home and introduced them to my pond. They were hibernating in a plastic bucket. Is this a major screw up?
