his face looks dry

My tortoise is about 9 months old or so. Got him for our son for Christmas. His face looks dry, not so healthy looking. He eats and moves around. He dont move that much but never did. I love Buddy and I DONT want anything to happen. Please help me. Thanks Katrina

Dry Face

Make sure you soak your tortoise twice a week for 10 minutes or so. Fill tub with warm water not hot and make sure the water does not come up over your Tortoises nose and let him soak. I use virgin olive oil on my tortoises once in awhile to lubricate their skin and shell. You just need a small amount to spread over your Tortoise. Don't use to often but it sure helps my Tortoises.
