his head/neck

we have a leopard tortise, every few months, his head gets stuck out and twisted, he bangs his self backwards and after a while his back normal, but it looks like he cant breath,

ive never seen this, but my mom as 3 times, and it scares her, his 4years old

is this normal? what should we do?
