If you have turtle as a pet, more than a year. He/She probably starts identifying you. Turtles never respond to any type of voice calls.
But they like the slow movements in objects.
What i found with my baby turtle is,that he likes the finger movements. If he is looking at me and i call him towards me with the calling finger movements. He really comes running to me always..
I was really surprised to see that for the first time..... :-) :-):-*
Once he reaches near my hand, i keep my hand stable and he starts smelling my fingers. Once he identifies the smell he tries to climb on my palm. And then after some times he runs away..
I have two-three more activities which makes my turtle to run towards me even if i don't call.
But not any food or his sticks..
He is very active and responds immediately to the human movements what he sees around him..
He is lovely and very cute..

Turtles can be trained using voice commands, signals, or food. If the turtle is hungry, it will probably be attracted to the food, although turtles sometimes won't recognise food when out of the water.
Have a look on youtube, there are some really helpful videos on training your pet turtle to do things!

Turtles move pretty much when they want to. So if you have something your turtle likes, you could hold it in front of your turtle, but turtles don't respond to voice commands. At least not as far as I know.
