Juvenile horsfield behaviour

by Emily Grimes

Hi, new to tortoise land! Just brought my juvenile horsfield tortoise home, know (i think) about feeding, got his home sorted but just wondered about their behaviour. Cassius seemed quite happy last night, and I know they like to dig, but he's burried himself in his bedding and has been there for quite some time. I'm worried he's not warm enough... What kind if behaviour should he show at this stage?! Can't find anything in the net about this age tortoise behaviour, and hints? Don't know what's normal! Thanks!

settling in

A tortoise often needs a little private time when settling in. Offer tempting foods in a quiet environment if you want to see some action.

Keep it slow and steady.
