our friend has a leopard tortoise- 1yo- and we dont want it to be sad/boredhow do we ensure none of this happens

Be sure there are interesting things in the habitat. Are there places to hide? Things to investigate? (Safe things of course).

Do you put the food in a different place every day?

Do you talk to the tortoise? Touch it? (Respectfully, and only if he likes it).
