He is on the right.

He is on the right.

My spur-thighed tortoise is two years old, and even though he has a UVB light in his vivarium, his shell has become very bumpy. I am unsure of whether this is normal or not. I give him calcium powder on his food, and he also eats plenty of green leafy vegetables. I also add vitamins to his dry food. I don't know what to do. Please help!

Pyrimiding

Stop giving him dry food and stick with the fresh natural grasses he needs, dry food contain too much protein :(
You can buy seeds off the Internet to grow your own feed for them xx

why does he look different to other sulcatas? i've researched them on the internet, and i think he looks very different to the others. the people i bought him off weren't very helpful, if i'm completely honest.

Spur thigh pyramiding shell
by: Shelly

Your tortoise seems to have a pyramiding shell.

That would normally be a diet issue. A spur thigh needs mostly grasses and hay, but not hay with a high protein content. This link will take you to information on spur thighs, including diet.

Keep it slow and steady.
