My lil tortoise is abt 4 months and for the past week it has stopped eating and hasnt crapped for a long time i think there's something wrong and i just cant figure it out and also a few weeks back he was crapping only liquid stuff as if he had loose motions. Not possible to take him to a vet we're not suppose to have them as pets here. so this is my only place of hope!!

it lives with me in my room and doesnt have a special place or anything i give him water and food and take him out in the sun.

tortoise cruelty
by: Anonymous

This tortoise has metabolic bone disease as you are not feeding it properly and needs calcium supplement. yuou can see its shell is not growing properly. It also needs plenty of sun and a place to be kept indoors with uv lighting and basking light. You are not caring for it properly and before you kill it give it to someone who knows about their care. This disease will kill it eventually and its cruel.

Help needed
by: Anonymous

This tortoise cannot live inside all the time. It needs about 10 hours of direct sunlight every day. Without that, it can't process its food properly, especially calcium.

I really disagree about the lettuce. Most tortoises need rough food, not wet food. Weeds and hay would be better, but you have to be sure they have no pesticides.

If you can't take proper care of this animal, please see that it gets to a rescue center where staff can give it what it needs.

feed it lettuce only, it looks like its been growing oddly, it might help, try to get the leafy kind and not the white crunchy kind
