Russian Tortoise

Our tortoise, Kiwi, is a male we recently found out, because he has the indent on the bottom (belly) part of his shell.

He is approximately 5 inches long by 3.5 inches wide. How old (approximately)would he be based on this information? He was purchased almost 8 years ago.

Also, all he eats are varieties of lettuce (romaine, organic, being his favorite)and pears, apples and asian pears. I have tried all sorts of other fruits and veggies, but he is not interested. He seems very healthy and has free roam of he house at least 5-6 hours every day. He moves pretty fast for a tortoise.
