Say, "Tortoise," and most North American minds leap to the story of The Tortoise and the Hare.
The story has been told for centuries. There are lots of versions. I like this one because when I see it, I identify with the people who use ASL (American Sign Language), or any other sign language for that matter.
Why?
Because tortoises don't have ears like humans and many other animals. We can feel vibrations, but we don't hear sounds like you do.
Watch the Tortoise and the Hare video and see if you can figure out some of the words.
