tortoise not eating

my oldest tortoise is about 5 yrs old.

over the past week, he hasnt been eating. i havent saw him open his mouth lately. our little turtle, about 2 yrs old is eatin fine and very active.i put them out in the sun every day beacause we dont have a heater in their tank. i dont know whats wrong with my older turtle. because someone please give me some advice!

thanks for giving me good advice on what to do, turtle expert. i think the one about not yet being able to digest the last batch of food he ate is the case. you helped me ALOT, thanks again!

 lots of optoins in this case

he might either:

be deppressed

want to hibernate

sick

not liking the food you offer him
or
hasnt digested the from a while ago so he cant consume any food.....if that is the case...give him a soak in a little warmer than luke warm water and see if he poops!!


hope this helps, but remember.....i am an expert...not a vet...so there might be a possibility that the only way you can figure this out is if you go to a local vet so the veterinarian can SEE the tortoise and examine it!!
