I am so sorry that this comment was hidden from me until today.
Since this is almost a month later, I assume you have sorted out your situation. For others who may come to this later, my suggestion is to contact a local reptile vet. Your local situation has so much to do with this situation. As to eye problems, those also should generally be seen by a vet.
I wish you the best.
Keep it slow and steady.

amateur turtle eye care by: Shelly
I have removed a comment that said you should remove cataracts yourself. Absolutely NOT! First, these are not cataracts. Even if they were, you would not be able to remove them. Cataracts are inside the eye. Only a professional should ever do such surgery.
The film over a turtle's eyes is likely the beginning of a scale that eventually will cause blindness. Vitamin A helps. The best thing to do is to see a veterinarian who can give you the best advice and tell you how to manage the medication.
Keep it slow and steady.

Tortoise gets blind then dies by: Anonymous
We have a big number of tortoises living in our garden, and we've had them for ages, generation after generation. Recently some of the small ones and one medium sized one have been getting blind or their eyes have been shutting, then some stuff starts gathering on their eye lids, then a couple of days later they die! Is this a virus? Hiw could we treat the blind ones before they die? How could we help the rest and stop them from dying? Can humans get this virus?

Do not mess around with this. Your pet could become blind. There may be a vitamin deficiency. A vet can check out your pet.

My Turtle has a red lump on his right eye by: Anonymous
My turtle has a red lump on his right eye, now he is always wiping his left eye with his paw. I think it's infecting the left eye. I wanted to take him to surgery but I was afraid he wouldn't survive because he is not even as big as four keys on my key-board. What should I do? Please help me.

Eye Problems by: Shelly
You have a serious problem. It sounds to me like your turtle had an eye infection and that the pus because encaseated. The only thing that can help at this stage is surgery.
