Why Turtles Usually crawl to the corner ! by: Anonymous
i just recently got 2 RES turtles ......... But its completely normal for them. They are just seeing out their habitat looking for a home. They just need a little home. If you only have one rock for them they will try and swim under it like as a home as their own. But go to a local pet store and buy a platform for them to to crawl on top for land and on bottom with water where they will usually stay like mine. Trust they will love it and get use to it. But I don't know if this also works for tortoise's.

glass by: turtle expert #2
its not because its stressed....its because the glass is clear and the turtle thinks that it open spase and doents know thats there is glass there. he will eventually get used to it and then it will mark its favorite spots in the tank and go there. turtles are used to a lot of space and now it is in a little tank...i recomend getting it a very large tank if you truly want it to be happy.

My turtle is always in the corner by: Anonymous
Mine too! But he never used to do this before, I wonder if he is stressed out...It started when the other turtles ate "Fish" (the loner goldfish that made it after a mass feeding and became part of the family)Ever since we noticed that he is always at the bottom of the tank and in the corner either sleeping for spassing.... Poor guy or is something else wrong :( Please help.... Susie

house by: Anonymous
Mine does it too, but once I made a little house and put in in with him, he just goes into his house instead, I think it makes them feel safer
