turtle log

We had a large log that floated up several years ago (about 12 feet long)and the box turtles loved it. We had up to 8 turtles at a time. This winter it broke off and floated away (from the thick ice we had). We have been unable to find a log we could move to our bank. Is there a way to make your own log? Maybe out of timbers or a material that wouldn't rot?

Our turtles are starting to pop up and are looking for a place to land. We don't want them to go elsewere!
We found a temporary log about 8 feet long in the woods but because of the steepness of the bank we need it much longer to anchor it. (We live on a reservoir and the water level keeps changin when the dam is open)
Please advise.
