What species is my tortoise?

Hello. My sister was given this tortoise a few days ago. They told her it was 23 yrs old and gave her some questionable care instructions. Now that i've looked over your site they seem to be very, very poor instructions! We've made an appointment with a vet for next week, but we'd like to know what species she/he is so we can start to make a proper habitat. Thanks!
