how do i know how old my yellow belly turtle is? its shell is about four-five inches long and about three inches wide

The only way to know for sure how old a turtle is, is to be there when it hatches.

Yours is probably not fully mature yet, but that still doesn't tell you exactly how old it is. Turtles don't grow at a steady pace. Neither do people for that matter. If I told you there was a child who was 49 inches high, would you know for sure how old he was?

Keep it slow and steady.
